XOCANTONESE Owner and Chef Alex Deng is a first-generation Chinese/Cantonese
American who grew up in the vibrant and diverse state of
California. Moving to New York a decade ago, Alex continued to
blend his Cantonese heritage with his American upbringing,
creating a unique perspective that he now shares with you.
With a background in Food Science and fifteen years of experience
in the food industry, Alex brings a unique and deep understanding
of flavors and traditions. His passion for connecting with people
and making them smile drives everything he does. He uses skills
and experiences to connect with others and spread joy through the
universal language of food.
